A company with a long-standing tradition in manufacturing had undertaken a significant design project involving some hardware and primarily software development. The project proved to be successful as multiple customers started asking for additional software releases. However, this marketing success represented only the tip of the iceberg. Due to the apparent immaturity of company's development processes it appeared impossible to extend the company ISO registration. Procedures supporting ISO Design Element had to be written and followed.

At this point SPM was called to fill the gap. In collaboration with the existing process group, we tailored our standard procedures and then introduced these to the development staff. The overall deployment period of four months included training workshops and internal audits. The successful company ISO registration proved that our effort was timely and seamlessly managed.
